Why Specify
The best eCPM rates in the industry, and the highest quality advertisers you'll find.
$10 CPM on every impression, and $80+ eCPM for publishers whose users convert well.
Specify pays you to show ads to people who are likely to want them, matched on what those wallets already do onchain. When there is no good match, we serve nothing at all.
It works whether or not your users connect a wallet on your site.
Top rates in web3
- $10 CPM base rate, paid on every impression regardless of how it performs
- Revenue share on top, based on the conversion rate your users deliver
- $80+ eCPM achievable for publishers with strong conversion rates
eCPM is the combined effective rate: the $10 base plus revenue share. High-converting inventory earns dramatically more than it would under a flat-CPM deal, because when your users convert well, advertisers pay more and that flows back to you.
Full detail is in Payments.
Ads as discovery
Good ads can actually improve the user experience in your app.
Most of our advertisers are established DeFi protocols: teams with real products, real liquidity, and users already using them.
Because our targeting is grounded in real onchain behaviour, your users see products adjacent to what they already do. A DEX user might discover a better aggregator. A lending user might find a new yield opportunity. A stablecoin holder might discover a payments product they didn't know existed.
Well-placed, well-targeted ads help users find more things to do in web3, and they associate that discovery with your app. You become the place they come back to because interesting things keep appearing there.
Protecting your own revenue
You know your users better than we do. If you have user segments whose activity generates revenue for you, such as users who make in-wallet swaps that pay your fees, we encourage you to exclude them from being served ads.
There's no point earning extra dollars from Specify if it cannibalises larger revenue you'd have earned directly. We'd rather leave those impressions untouched and keep the partnership healthy long-term.
No filler
If we have nothing relevant for a user, we serve nothing.
Most networks fill at any cost, because an empty slot earns nobody anything. We would rather leave the impression unsold than spend your users' attention on something they did not want. It is also why our rates work: advertisers pay more when every impression is aimed at someone plausible.
What we target on
Everything we target on is publicly available onchain data, the same data anyone with a block explorer can see.
With consent, we optionally set one cookie, so someone who connected a wallet elsewhere on the network can be recognised on your site. It is never set without consent, and ads still serve without it. See On privacy.
