Cost Per Transaction (CPTx): Pay Only For Results
Unlike traditional ad platforms where you pay for impressions or clicks regardless of outcome, Specify's CPTx model ensures you only pay when users complete on-chain transactions in your product.
How CPTx Pricing Works
Simple Performance-Based Model:
You set your price per conversion when launching your campaign
We deliver targeted ads to relevant web3 users across our publisher network
You pay exactly your specified rate for each completed transaction
Higher CPTx bids get your ads in front of more people
Example: If you set $40 CPTx for new users completing a swap on your DEX, you'll pay exactly $40 per conversion—whether it takes 100 impressions or 10,000 to generate that action.
Understanding Reach vs. Price
How Bidding Affects Reach: Your CPTx bid determines how many people will see your ads. Higher bids unlock access to more publisher inventory and larger audiences, while lower bids target users with less demand from other advertisers.
Live Market Data: When setting up your campaign, you'll see a graph showing the estimated reach for different CPTx prices based on current market demand. This helps you balance cost with the scale you want to achieve.

Market Dynamics:
Higher bids = More reach = More potential conversions
Lower bids = Less reach but potentially higher ROI if targeting is precise
Demand fluctuates based on competitor activity and market conditions
Strategic Bidding
Finding Your Sweet Spot:
Start with your profitable CPTx based on LTV calculations
Check the reach estimate to see if it meets your volume goals
Adjust bid up if you need more scale, or down if focused on efficiency
Monitor performance and plan future campaigns based on results
Targeting Optimization: Targeting is project-based. The more specific your project targeting, the less competition you'll face from other advertisers, potentially allowing you to achieve good results at lower CPTx rates.

Budget Management
Campaign Controls:
Total Budget Limits: Set maximum campaign spending with hard caps
Real-Time Tracking: Monitor spend and conversions through your dashboard
Budget Recommendations:
Allow sufficient budget for meaningful performance data
Very restrictive budgets may limit our ability to optimize delivery
Consider your reach estimate when setting total budget
Getting Started: Test Campaign
All new advertisers start with a Test Campaign to validate targeting and establish baseline performance:
Test Campaign Details:
$1,000 for 15,000 impressions
Full performance tracking and analytics
Conversions are tracked but not billed separately during the test
Typically 2-3 weeks to gather meaningful data
Graduate to full CPTx pricing when your campaign demonstrates ≥0.05% conversion rate
How test campaign billing works:
The $1,000 covers the 15,000 impressions delivered during your test period. Any conversions generated from these impressions are tracked and reported but not billed separately - they're included in your test investment. This allows you to evaluate true campaign performance and ROI before committing to larger-scale CPTx campaigns.
Note: The test campaign is a fixed-price package focused on validating audience fit and gathering performance data, not guaranteeing a specific conversion volume.
Why start with testing?
Web3 conversion tracking has inherent lag due to on-chain confirmation times. The test campaign ensures we deliver sufficient volume to evaluate performance fairly before scaling. This protects both parties—you validate that our audience converts for your product, and we ensure our publisher inventory is being used effectively.
What happens after testing?
Strong performance (≥0.2% conversion): Unlock full CPTx pricing for ongoing campaigns at significantly lower costs. Our successful campaigns typically convert at 0.3-1%, meaning qualified projects see 5-10x better economics through pure performance billing.
Needs optimization (<0.2% conversion): We'll provide feedback on campaign performance and discuss next steps. In some cases, the issue is targeting or creative and can be refined. In others, it may indicate the product isn't quite ready for paid acquisition -perhaps the funnel needs work or PMF isn't fully established yet. We'd rather be honest about what we're seeing than encourage campaigns that aren't set up to succeed.
